It may sound crazy but I would lead a peaceful protest but have the protesters wear ‘riot’ gear too (spray painted in a different color than black of course, perhaps pink =), get it at army surplus stores. Just to make them see how ridiculous it is for heavily armed police to intimidate peace activists! If they try to bully us to ‘keep moving’, have everyone grab some asphalt until they quit directing us, then get up and march some more. Have one out of two protesters carry a cam or cell to record EVERYTHING. March them in small squads of people within the large group so that each individual can account for any violence or property damage done by a rogue protester and immediately diffuse their behavior and go back to marching. I envision strict and disciplined protesters much like a battalion who can march to the drum of peace. Of course that’s just one idea. Trying to be creative and taking ‘their’ tactics and making it our own.
Your Charter of Rights and Freedoms might as well be written on toilet paper if the Government can annul parts of it at will at any time it chooses. Your right to free speech does not exist if, when it is most important to exercise it freely, the Government puts thousands of heavily armed and armoured paramilitary forces into the streets to oppose and arrest those who attempt to freely speak in a peaceful manner. You no longer control your Government, you live in a police state, right now when things seem peaceful and quiet as well as when the full brunt of government force comes to the fore as in the G20 protests. If you want to have rights, you’ll have to fight for them, the peaceful solution has been taken off the table.
Maybe one day people will realize that the elite wants us to destroy property,wants us to rape and pillage. That way when they ask for even more oppressive laws they have something to support their requests. Just like the young lady said,over and over…..
